According to official reports, Duggar is accused of molesting the victim multiple times during a holiday in Panama City Beach in 2020, when she was just nine years old. The charges filed against him include molestation of a victim under 12 years old and lewd and lascivious behavior of a person under 18 years or older. The arrest occurred out of state, as Duggar resides in Arkansas, and he is currently held at the Washington County Jail awaiting extradition to Florida.
The investigation began after the Tontitown Police Department in Arkansas contacted the Sheriff's Office regarding a report of past sexual abuse made by the victim, who is now 14 years old. During a forensic interview, the victim disclosed that Duggar repeatedly asked her to sit on his lap and, as the vacation progressed, manipulated her underwear and grazed her genitals while covering them with a blanket on a couch. She also reported that he rubbed his hands on her thighs during these incidents.

Investigators revealed that on March 17, 2026, the victim's father confronted Duggar about the allegations. Duggar reportedly admitted his actions to both the father and Tontitown detectives. The Sheriff's Office noted that the alleged abuse ceased after Duggar apologized to the victim, though the legal proceedings are ongoing.
