Hollywood star Idris Elba is set to entertain music lovers in the party capital of Ibiza this summer, as he joins an impressive list of guests for world-renowned DJ Solomun's residency at the iconic Pacha nightclub.
A Star-Studded Lineup
The Luther actor, 53, will take his spot behind the decks for one night only during Solomun's Solomun+1 residency, which marks its 12th consecutive season at the infamous venue. Elba, who has been heavily linked with the vacant James Bond role, will be putting his acting credentials aside to deliver a thrilling performance for club-goers.
Solomun's Return to Pacha
Solomun returns to Pacha Ibiza for another action-packed summer, opening and closing the season himself with five all-night-long nights throughout the residency. Since its inception in 2013, Solomun+1 has grown into a fixture of its own at the club, known for its eclectic lineups and innovative sounds.
In addition to Idris Elba, Solomun will welcome a host of other huge hitters to DJ alongside him. The lineup includes Skrillex, Jamie xx, and Anyma, while KETTAMA, DESIREE, and Max Styler will make their +1 debuts. Returning favorites include Âme, Dixon, Denis Sulta, Chloé Caillet, and DJ Gigola.
Idris Elba's DJ Career
In recent years, Idris Elba has taken his DJ career more seriously, performing at major events such as Coachella and even spinning tracks at the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2018. His appearance at Pacha Ibiza adds to an already impressive resume in the music scene.
Solomun's Creative Vision
Ahead of his shows at Alexandra Palace in London and an appearance at Las Vegas' The Sphere, Solomun opened up about his upcoming Ibiza season. The four-time DJ Awards winner described Ibiza as his creative home, emphasizing the island's unique energy that pushes him to try new things.
He explained, "Ibiza is my creative home. Each season brings something new, and next year will be no different, fresh music, unexpected line ups, moments people won’t see coming. The island has a unique energy, and it pushes me to try new things."
Solomun highlighted the importance of freedom in his performances, stating, "The key is freedom. Every week, I allow myself to experiment, with new tracks, different directions, and a very eclectic line up with completely different sounds. I never want to repeat myself. That curiosity keeps the residency alive after so many years."
He added, "A DJ set is never a one-way thing. It’s always a dialogue. The crowd sends energy, I respond, and then they respond again. When that exchange becomes fluid, almost instinctive, that’s where the magic can happen. In the best moments, the room itself becomes part of the set."
This summer's residency promises to be a highlight for music enthusiasts, blending star power with Solomun's renowned expertise behind the decks.
