The ex-partner of TOWIE star Harry Derbidge has been left devastated following the sudden and tragic death of his fiancé.
Heartbreaking Announcement on Social Media
Dean Rowland shared the devastating news of his fiancé Steven Hewitt's passing in an emotional post on Facebook. He expressed his profound grief, stating his heart was "broken and will never be the same again."
In a poignant caption accompanying a selfie of the couple, Dean wrote: "The world didn't deserve you, the best of the best, you’ll forever be my one true love. I can’t believe I’ve got to go on without you."
A Future Together Cut Short
The couple, who had been together for four years, got engaged in January 2025 at the Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland. Dean had shared his joy at the time, posting videos with the caption: "I said YES! Completely overwhelmed and filled with joy."
Just months ago, in October 2025, the pair were actively searching for a wedding venue while finishing renovations on their home. Steven, a hairdresser from Glasgow, passed away almost exactly a year after the proposal.
Reflecting on their time together, Dean added in his tribute: "This year gave me memories I will never forget... thank you for being my home wherever we are."
Outpouring of Support and Past Relationship
Friends and fans flooded the comments with messages of support for Dean. One heartfelt response read: "Dean I’m so sorry my heart is completely broken for you and all Steven’s family and friends."
Dean was previously engaged to TOWIE's Harry Derbidge, but the couple split in 2021 after four years together. They had postponed their wedding twice due to the pandemic and put adoption plans on hold.
Speaking about the breakup at the time, Harry described it as "the most heartbreaking... awful thing I’ve had to go through." Dean, meanwhile, stated they remained important people in each other's lives, calling the split a decision by "two best friends realising it’s time to take some space."
