Tom Read Wilson's Mum Reveals I'm A Celeb Family Tears

The mother of Tom Read Wilson has opened up about the incredibly emotional I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! moment that left his entire family in tears, while also disclosing the charming strategy he devised to befriend fellow campmate Ruby Wax.

An Emotional Letter From Home

Juliette Cheeseman appeared on Monday's episode of ITV's This Morning, speaking to hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley about her son's jungle journey. The conversation turned to Sunday night's highly charged episode, where the celebrities received letters from their loved ones.

Describing the family's reaction to seeing Tom, 39, become overwhelmed with emotion as Vogue Williams read out a heartfelt message from his brother and sister, Juliette said it was a profoundly moving experience. 'We were all sitting there with tissues just crying,' she revealed. She added that while it was emotional to see him cry, it was also heartening, as he was happy to have heard from everyone back home.

The letter itself contained touching words from his family, stating his father was 'bursting with pride' and that Tom was 'all of our favourite things in one person.'

A Pre-Planned Friendship with Ruby Wax

Cat Deeley mentioned the delightful on-screen dynamic between Tom and comedy legend Ruby Wax, which prompted Juliette to share a sweet anecdote. She explained that before entering the jungle, Tom had expressed a specific hope. 'Before Tom went in, he said to me "I really hope that I can get on with Ruby", because he said "I absolutely adore her!"' Juliette recounted.

He even had a game plan, hoping to share his love of sonnets and theatre with her. Juliette expressed her joy that the pair have 'obviously hit it off,' a connection that has extended beyond the camp, as she has also become friendly with Ruby's husband.

Fans 'Devastated' as Eddie Kadi Exits the Jungle

The episode also covered the fallout from Sunday night's elimination, which saw comedian Eddie Kadi become the second contestant to be voted out. The 42-year-old found himself in the bottom two with model Vogue Williams before hosts Ant and Dec announced he had received the fewest public votes.

The decision left many viewers upset, with fans taking to social media to call Eddie one of the most 'underrated' campmates. Many argued that Vogue or Kelly Brook should have been eliminated instead.

In his exit interview, Eddie reflected on a transformative experience. 'I feel like I've been in there a year, it's literally changed my life,' he said. He connected his time in the Australian rainforest to his Congolese heritage, gaining a new understanding of his grandparents' humility and joy.

The day's drama in camp included some burnt rice cooked by Eddie, leading to whispered criticisms, and a contraband scandal involving butter. Camp leader Shona Archer was forced to step down as punishment, with Ruby Wax voted in as her formidable replacement, promising 'No more Mrs Nice Guy!'

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! continues nightly on ITV1 and ITVX.
