Shirlie Kemp 'Really Embarrassed' by Martin's I'm A Celeb Sex Life Revelations
Shirlie Kemp embarrassed by Martin's I'm A Celeb sex chat

Eighties pop icon Shirlie Kemp has confessed to feeling deeply mortified by her husband Martin's candid jungle confessions on this year's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

An Awkward Admission

The 63-year-old singer, famed for being one half of Pepsi and Shirlie, expressed her embarrassment after the Spandau Ballet star, 64, shared intimate details about their relationship with his campmates. Shirlie told the Daily Mail she has found the experience particularly cringe-worthy, especially when facing fellow gym-goers the morning after the episodes air.

Her comments came as she arrived alone at Brisbane Airport, preparing to greet Martin from the iconic I'm A Celebrity bridge ahead of the first elimination scheduled for Friday.

Family Reactions

The situation escalated when Martin made a crude admission about a specific sex position the couple used to conceive their son, BBC One Show presenter Roman Kemp, 32. Roman did not hold back his feelings, taking to X, formerly Twitter, to share a meme of Homer Simpson pouring chemicals into his eyes.

He captioned the post: ‘My dad talking about “wheelbarrowing” with my mum… Banter aside, wtf.’ This public reaction from their son highlighted the family's mixed feelings about Martin's unfiltered campfire chat.

A Lasting Love Story

Despite the recent awkwardness, the couple's bond appears stronger than ever. Martin described Shirlie as his everything in the Bush Telegraph, stating that friendship is the bedrock of their long-standing marriage. He gushed that everything he does in life is for her.

Their romance began in the 1980s after Martin saw Shirlie performing as a backing singer for Wham! on Top of the Pops in 1982. George Michael famously played cupid, helping to bring the smitten pair together. They married in a clifftop ceremony in St Lucia and went on to have two children: daughter Harley Moon, 35, and son Roman.

Shirlie, who will remain in Queensland for the coming weeks, also commented on Martin's revelation that he was once considered for the role of James Bond, a part that ultimately went to Pierce Brosnan. She firmly believes he would have been 'the best James Bond ever'.

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! continues nightly on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
