Sharon Osbourne's Heartbreaking Sacrifice for Ozzy
Sharon Osbourne has made an incredibly difficult and emotional decision, choosing to remain close to her late husband Ozzy Osbourne's final resting place rather than fly to Australia to support their son, Jack, on I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!
A Mother's Impossible Choice
Since the legendary Black Sabbath vocalist Ozzy Osbourne died in July at the age of 76 following a long battle with Parkinson's, Sharon has been faced with a monumental decision. The grieving 73-year-old had to choose between staying at their sprawling Buckinghamshire estate, where Ozzy is buried, or moving to the United States to be closer to her children and grandchildren.
She has decided to remain in the UK, finding herself unable to stray far from the side of her beloved husband of 43 years. It is for this same profound reason that she cannot make the long journey to Australia, despite her son Jack's participation in the popular reality television show.
Family Support from Afar
While Sharon remains in England, her daughter, Kelly Osbourne, has been a pillar of support. The mother and daughter were recently pictured together at a glitzy event at a restaurant near Oxford Circus in central London, marking Sharon's first public appearance since the tragedy.
During the outing, Sharon was seen clasping Kelly's hand, a show of strength that was widely praised by fans on social media. Back home, the pair have been supporting Jack by watching his televised jungle adventures together, with Kelly even sharing photos of her mother's reactions online.
However, no family members are expected to meet Jack when he eventually crosses the famous bridge to be reunited with Ant and Dec and the comforts of home. A source close to the family explained the poignant situation, stating, "Sharon can’t go, she can’t leave Ozzy. She has been supporting Jack all she can but she just can’t be there to meet him. It is just so sad for her, she adores her children. But she is absolutely determined to keep Ozzy’s wish."
Honouring Ozzy's Final Wish
The source of Sharon's unwavering dedication lies in a promise she made to her husband. Long before his death, Ozwy had made a specific request for his burial. He told Sharon, "Don’t cremate me, whatever you do. I want to be put in the ground, in a nice garden somewhere, with a tree planted over my head. A crabapple tree, preferably."
Sharon dutifully honoured this wish, laying the rock legend to rest under a crabapple tree on the family's Buckinghamshire estate. In the wake of this devastating loss, she has struggled to leave the property, feeling a deep connection to the place where her husband is buried.
Jack, Kelly, and their sister Aimee have all moved back to Los Angeles since their father's passing and would like their mother to join them in the US. Despite this, Sharon's commitment to being near Ozzy remains her priority, a testament to their enduring love and her incredible strength during this period of immense grief.
