Gordon Ramsay's Six-Word Dig at Adam Peaty's Mum Revealed in Wedding Speech
Ramsay's brutal dig at Peaty's mum in wedding speech

The weekend wedding of Olympic champion Adam Peaty and celebrity chef's daughter Holly Ramsay has been overshadowed by a bitter family rift, culminating in a brutal six-word remark from father-of-the-bride Gordon Ramsay.

Explosive Speech Sparks Controversy

During his speech at the ceremony held at Bath Abbey on Saturday, 28th December 2025, Gordon Ramsay is reported to have made a pointed comment about the absence of Adam Peaty's parents. The TV chef, 58, praised his wife Tana, stating "Look at Tana and that’s what you have to look forward to." He then allegedly added, in a direct reference to Adam's mother Caroline and father Mark, "Shame you don’t have the same."

It is further claimed that Ramsay told the newlyweds that Tana "will be a good mum to them both," a remark interpreted as a dig at the fractured relationship between Adam and his own mother. A source close to the Peaty family responded angrily, stating: "It just goes to show that this was the Ramsays’ plan all along."

A Family Feud Overshadows the Big Day

The wedding was notably missing most of Adam Peaty's immediate family. His parents and brothers, James and Richard, remained at their home in Staffordshire. The only family member from Adam's side in attendance was his sister, Beth, 32, who served as a bridesmaid alongside Holly's sisters, Megan and Tilly.

The rift reportedly began in September 2024 when Adam and Holly did not invite wider family to their engagement party. The situation escalated when Caroline Peaty was not invited to Holly's hen do at Soho Farmhouse last month, an event attended by Tana Ramsay.

In a poignant interview with the Daily Mail ahead of the wedding, Caroline Peaty expressed her deep hurt. "I don’t think they understand how much they have hurt me; it’s as if they have cut my heart out," she said. "This is the first Christmas that I’ve not had my family together – my family is broken." She added that she would forgive her son if he tried to make amends.

Last-Minute Message Goes Unread

Dramatically, Adam's aunt, Louise, sent him a heartfelt text message just moments before he entered the abbey. The message read: "I hope you never suffer the depth of pain you have put your mother through and despite it all she loves you still. Shame on you both. Remember on this, your happiest day, and on each anniversary of your happiest day, that you hurt your mum so deeply her soul screams."

However, a family source confirmed that Adam did not receive or read the message, as he had blocked family communications. Despite the ongoing animosity, the wedding proceeded, with Gordon Ramsay walking his daughter down the aisle. The couple's representatives have been contacted for comment by The Mirror.
