Nicole Kidman has celebrated her first Thanksgiving since her separation from husband Keith Urban, choosing to mark the occasion with a family-focused run in Nashville.
A Family Affair on Thanksgiving
The Big Little Lies star, 58, shared a festive snapshot from the event on her Instagram this Friday, showcasing her participating in the annual Boulevard Bolt Turkey Trot. She was joined by her and Urban's two daughters, Sunday, 17, and Faith, 14, alongside her sister Antonia Kidman and brother-in-law Craig Marran.
Kidman sported a practical yet festive outfit for the five-mile race, wearing a white puffer jacket, black leggings, and a commemorative turkey-themed T-shirt from the event that read 'Boulevard Bolt 2025'. Her family members were also seen wearing the same themed shirts. The actress simply captioned the heartwarming holiday photo, 'So thankful xx'.
Navigating a New Normal
This family outing comes amidst the backdrop of Kidman's recent divorce filing from country music star Keith Urban in September, after 19 years of marriage. The filing cited irreconcilable differences.
According to a custody agreement signed by Urban in August, the singer is allocated 59 days per year with their daughters, which includes Thanksgiving. However, it appears the teenagers spent at least part of the holiday with their mother, indicating a degree of flexibility in the new family dynamic.
Notably absent from the Thanksgiving event were Kidman's two adult children from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise. She is the adoptive mother to Bella, 32, and Connor, 30.
Life in Nashville Continues
Despite the separation, both Kidman and Urban have maintained their deep roots in Nashville. Urban, drawn to the city as the heart of country music, lived there first, with Kidman later moving in and raising their children in a large home within the Northumberland gated community.
Friends of the actress confirm that she has no plans to move, while Urban has reportedly taken up temporary residence 'very nearby'. Both have been spotted separately at the same Whole Foods store in the Franklin Hills suburb, and their children continue to attend the same school.
Kidman's professional life also continues to be anchored in the city. She is set to begin filming the new series Scarpetta in Nashville next spring, in which she plays pathologist Dr Kay Scarpetta. The first series is scheduled for release on Prime Video on March 11.
When asked recently how she is faring during an interview with Ariana Grande, Kidman seemed to hint at her emotional state, replying, 'I’m hanging in there.' The couple, who married in June 2006, were last seen together publicly this past June.
