Former Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague has bravely disclosed that she turned to professional therapy to work through the emotional fallout of her temporary split from boxer Tommy Fury in 2024. The influencer, 26, described the breakup as her "biggest trauma" in the latest instalment of her revealing docuseries.
The Breakdown and a Path to Healing
The couple, who found fame on the ITV2 dating show and share a two-year-old daughter, Bambi, ended their five-year relationship in August 2024. Tommy later candidly admitted that struggles with his heavy drinking, exacerbated by a boxing injury, were the primary cause of the split, stating he could no longer be the partner Molly-Mae deserved.
In the final three episodes of Molly-Mae: Behind It All, which launched on Prime Video, Molly-Mae delves into the profound impact of that period. "It was deep. The past does affect me. I'm an avoider and I struggle to face things head-on," she confessed. "My biggest trauma would be my break-up last year."
A Bittersweet Reconciliation
Despite the pain, the pair reconciled later in the year, a decision Molly-Mae says therapy helped her approach with clarity. "Therapy has helped me clear my head and go into this next chapter with a strong mindset," she explained. "I feel confident in my decision and how amazing this will be for us as a family."
However, the process of moving back in with Tommy was fraught with mixed emotions. The influencer described leaving her own Cheshire property as "bittersweet," closing the door on a significant chapter of her life. She openly admitted to living with a lingering "fear of the unknown" regarding their future, a sentiment she never imagined having a year prior.
"When I move into Tommy's house, I am closing the door and leaving behind such an incredible chapter in my life, it's very bittersweet," Molly-Mae said in a clip. "It's also just that fear of not knowing what's round the corner."
Looking Forward Amidst the Fear
The new episodes also capture Molly-Mae's professional milestones as she overcomes personal insecurities. Viewers will see her walk the runway for L'Oreal Paris and embark on a major collaboration with sportswear giant Adidas.
While Tommy Fury does not film new scenes for the docuseries, he appears via pre-recorded videos and FaceTime calls. The couple, who spent the recent Christmas and New Year holidays in the Maldives with Bambi, appear committed to rebuilding. "I am very proud of me and Tommy for working through things," Molly-Mae reflected. "It's just going to bring us even closer as a family."
