TOWIE Star Dan Edgar Confirms Romance with Former Co-Star Chloe Lewis
Dan Edgar, the 35-year-old reality television personality from The Only Way Is Essex, has publicly confirmed his romantic involvement with his ex co-star Chloe Lewis. This revelation comes after months of speculation and follows their reconnection at a high-profile wedding event last summer.
Reconnection at a Mallorca Wedding
The pair are believed to have reignited their connection at the wedding of fellow TOWIE stars Georgia Kousoulou and Tommy Mallet in Mallorca during the summer of 2023. This development occurred shortly after Dan's split from Ella Rae Wise, another co-star he had been dating. The timing has created a complex web of relationships within the TOWIE cast, particularly as filming for the new series is currently underway in Vietnam.
Awkward Filming Dynamics in Vietnam
In a recent interview with Closer magazine, Dan opened up about the challenging situation of filming alongside his ex-girlfriend Ella Rae Wise in Vietnam. "It's not ideal being away with your ex," he confessed. "It came to light that she was still quite upset about a lot of stuff. It's not nice, I don't like seeing anyone upset. It was a tough situation to be in."
He further elaborated on navigating these emotional waters while being in a new relationship: "I'm with someone else now and to be out there and see someone else [Ella] upset and still trying to manage a friendship. It was all new ground to try and navigate. It's obviously never easy."
Chloe's Understanding Nature
Dan praised Chloe's maturity and understanding regarding the complicated dynamics of reality television relationships. "She's very understanding and very grown up as a person anyway," he said. "She's done the show before and she's understanding of how it all works."
When questioned about whether Chloe might return to TOWIE, Dan remained non-committal but expressed contentment with keeping their professional and personal lives separate for the time being.
Chloe Lewis's Personal Journey
Chloe Lewis, who joined TOWIE in 2015, has experienced significant personal developments in recent years. She shares a six-year-old son, Beau, with her former partner Danny Flasher. The couple met in 2016, welcomed Beau in October 2019, but separated in 2023 after seven years together.
In a candid Instagram Q&A session, Chloe revealed the challenges of their separation: "Yes I am [a single mama]. It's been a complicated couple of years. I'm quite private about my personal life, find it hard to deal with it all anyway let alone having everyone's opinion. But try my best to show what I can."
Overcoming Personal Struggles
Chloe has been remarkably open about her personal struggles, including the tragic loss of one of her twins during pregnancy. Speaking to OK! magazine, she shared: "The doctor did confirm the twins had been identical. That was so sad for me to hear. I kept thinking this one is going to come out and they would have looked exactly the same."
She described the emotional turmoil: "I grieved for about three months. I felt like I had gone into a hole, like I had lost a child. I felt like I had done something wrong because it was my body." It was Danny who helped her through this difficult period, reminding her: "Chloe, you've got to snap out of this, you've got one healthy baby, not everyone gets this."
Looking Toward the Future
Despite recent challenges, Chloe maintains hope for her future. When asked about expanding her family, she revealed: "I always wanted a big family. Becoming a mum was harder than I expected, but I do love it there's no feeling like it. So never say never!"
She offered advice to followers struggling with life's unexpected turns: "Life doesn't always go to plan (which I have found really hard) but I think everyone has their own journey. You have to just live yours & not put too much pressure on yourself. Don't compare yourself to others."
Historical Connections
The TOWIE connections run deep in this story. During her time on the show, Chloe was close friends with Kate Ferdinand (formerly Kate Wright), who was Dan's on-off girlfriend at the time. Kate has since married former footballer Rio Ferdinand. Additionally, Chloe's previous on-off relationship with Jake Hall was extensively documented during her TOWIE tenure before her departure in 2019.
As the new series of TOWIE continues filming in Vietnam, viewers will undoubtedly be watching closely to see how these complex personal dynamics unfold both on and off screen.
