I'm A Celebrity Star Lisa Riley Alarms Viewers with Puffy Eye
Fans of ITV's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! were left worried during Thursday evening's episode after noticing a visible change in contestant Lisa Riley's appearance. The Emmerdale actress, 49, was seen with a noticeably swollen and reddened left eye, though she carried on with camp life without mentioning any discomfort or pain.
Social Media Erupts with Fan Concern
Almost immediately after the episode aired, concerned viewers flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their observations and ask questions about the actress's wellbeing.
One fan posted: 'What’s wrong with Lisa’s face? Has she been bit by something. Her under eyes look sore.'
Another asked the wider audience: 'Any else noticed Lisa’s eye looks swollen?'
Speculation about insect bites was rife, with a third viewer commenting: 'What has happened to Lisa, has she been bitten just below her eye?' while another added: 'Guys, I am worried about Lisa, the bugs have really got her.' A fifth person noted it looked like she had 'a shiner.'
While it remains unclear if Lisa sought medical attention in the camp, a spokesperson for the show has previously confirmed that all campmates are monitored closely by the show's medical team around the clock.
New Arrivals and Camp Shake-Ups
The episode also saw the highly anticipated arrival of Vogue Williams and Tom Read Wilson, who entered the jungle as Bush Camp Chiefs. Their first task was to assign new roles to the celebrities.
After some discussion, they decided on the following duties:
- Kelly and Martin Kemp as camp chefs
- Ruby Wax and Lisa Riley on washing up
- Eddie Kadi and Ginge on water collection
- Aitch and Alex Scott on wood duty
Tom and Vogue also had the privilege of selecting four badge winners. Kelly, Lisa, Ginge, and Jack Osbourne were rewarded for their camp spirit with a treat-filled campfire at Snake Rock, enjoying marshmallows and hot chocolate.
Not everyone was pleased with the new dynamic, however. Jack Osbourne confided in fellow campmates, expressing his resistance. 'I feel resistance to Vogue and Tom,' he said. 'I’m just kinda like, "Hey, you don’t get to walk in halfway through the movie and decide to turn it off or change it."'
Meanwhile, back at the main camp, Aitch tried to keep morale high, exclaiming, 'We don't need no badge.' Lisa, despite her eye, warmly welcomed the new chiefs, giving them a tour of the camp facilities.
And The Next Bushtucker Trial Goes To...
The episode concluded with the return of hosts Ant and Dec, who announced the results of the public vote for the next Bushtucker Trial. The audience decided that Alex Scott and Jack Osbourne will be the next contestants to face the jungle's fearsome challenges on Friday evening.
