Spencer Matthews has been praised for his 'incredible achievement' after completing 30 marathons in 30 days across the Jordanian desert, but some fans spotted an unusual detail in his post-challenge physique. The 36-year-old reality star's wife, Vogue Williams, shared a photo of Matthews showing off his six-pack, leading several followers to claim they could see the face of Jesus Christ in his abdominal muscles.
Williams, who joined her husband for a 5km run during the challenge, posted the image on Instagram on August 27 with a heartfelt tribute. 'I joined him for 5k today and it was HOT and there were rocks everywhere,' she wrote. 'Impossible to many (especially me) but I always knew he would do it...well done Spenno.' The couple are expecting their fourth child together.
Eagle-eyed fans were quick to comment on the photo, with some noting that the outline of Matthews' six-pack appeared to resemble a face, with two abs like eyes and his belly button resembling a mouth. 'Anyone else thinks that looks like Jesus on his abs?' one follower asked. Another joked: 'Our father which art in the abdominals. Hallowed be thy navel.'
The former Made in Chelsea star undertook the gruelling challenge for Global's Make Some Noise charity, running in temperatures reaching 40°C. He started each marathon at 2:30am to avoid the worst of the heat and camped without showers or toilets, describing the experience as 'incredibly uncomfortable'. His daily calorie intake of 7,000 included unusual meals such as boiled goat's head.
Matthews, who has been sober since 2018, described the achievement as his proudest moment. 'I've come from a place that I was quite ashamed of and I think it's fair to say I've never been more proud of myself than achieving this,' he said. Despite breaking a Guinness World Record, he ruled out taking on a similar challenge soon, citing the difficulty of spending a month away from his three young children, Theodore, Gigi, and Otto.
