Lily Mo Sheen Celebrates Two Years Sober

Kate Beckinsale prides herself on her clean-living Los Angeles lifestyle, and now it appears her daughter, Lily Mo Sheen, is following in her footsteps. The 27-year-old recently took to Instagram to reveal that she is two years sober. While she did not provide further details, Lily—whose father is Welsh actor Michael Sheen, 57—shared an image of herself holding a tray of cupcakes with the caption: 'Two years sober.' A friend of the actress replied under the picture: 'So proud of you, Lily.'

Kate Beckinsale's Alcohol-Free Lifestyle

Despite finding Hollywood fame in the 1990s, Kate, now 52, was never one for wild partying. She has previously admitted that she is intolerant to alcohol. In 2016, the British actress told Shape magazine that drinking has a negative effect on her, so she goes out of her way to avoid it. 'I don't drink alcohol,' she explained. 'I feel [its effects] very quickly, so I've never actually had an entire glass of anything alcoholic.'

The actress also shared her preference for morning exercise: 'I basically wake up, eat breakfast, and then work out. I prefer to get it done in the morning. That said, I don't naturally get up early. It would be much better for me if the entire world went to bed at 4 am and woke up at noon. But it doesn't, so I'm usually staggering around first thing.'

Mother-Daughter Resemblance

Beckinsale has spoken openly about the obvious resemblances she and her daughter share. In 2023, she said: 'Sometimes I'll send her a text saying "get your own face!" She's like a better version. She's got something that I don't. She looks like this gorgeous Disney animal—she's got these giant eyes. I think probably [Michael] helped with that a bit—but she's very much herself.' Lily has two half-siblings on her father's side from his marriage to Swedish actress Anna Lundberg.

Support Through Tough Times

In November, Beckinsale appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and credited her close relationship with Lily's boyfriend for helping them through a 'tough' few years. The actress lost her beloved mother, Judy Loe, to cancer in July 2025, 18 months after the death of Judy's second husband and Kate's stepfather, Roy, who died in January 2024. 'We've had a tough couple of years. Both my parents passed away within the last few years,' she said on the show. She praised Lily's boyfriend, stating: 'Literally the only bright spot in the whole time came from him.'

Without naming her daughter's boyfriend, Beckinsale recounted a bizarre story about how he brought laughter into her life. 'He laid two eggs in a week is what the bright spot was,' she claimed. As the audience laughed, Beckinsale recalled a moment when he 'went to the bathroom and then was very surprised to find that he had laid an egg,' insisting that 'it had a shell and a yolk' and 'came out the route that it would come out a hen.' She said that the first time it happened, he was genuinely scared, and then one week later, Lily sent her a text with the news that 'he's done it again.' She then showed Kimmel a photo of one of the eggs, to which the shocked host exclaimed: 'Your daughter's boyfriend is the Easter Bunny—there's no other way to explain this!' Beckinsale admitted she 'got very involved' in the egg mystery 'because I really did need a distraction because everything was so horrible.'
