Kerry Katona has publicly declared she holds no grudges against Peter Andre, despite her longstanding friendship with his ex-wife Katie Price. The 45-year-old singer and television personality revealed she recently met Andre's wife Emily for the first time and even exchanges occasional text messages with Peter himself.
Beauty Awards Encounter
In her latest column for new! magazine, Kerry detailed meeting Emily Andre at The Beauty Awards earlier this week. The mother-of-five described Emily as a "lovely girl" and explained that she felt compelled to introduce herself after her daughter Heidi had recently stayed with Peter and Emily.
"I saw Emily at The Beauty Awards too," Kerry wrote. "My daughter Heidi stayed at Pete and Emily's last week so, from one mum to another, I went and introduced myself. I've never met Emily before but we sat down and chatted away – what a lovely girl she is!"
Navigating Complex Relationships
Despite her loyalty to Katie Price, Kerry emphasised her fair approach to relationships within the celebrity circle. She maintains communication with both parties and ensures transparency about her interactions.
"I'm a very fair person and Katie knows this," Kerry stated. "I was texting Pete the other week and I let Katie know. I haven't got beef with these people but Katie's always going to be my girl and I'm always going to have her back."
This declaration comes after Kerry previously claimed that Katie Price's exes, including Peter Andre, would be "nothing without her" in a recent interview. She had asserted that "None of them would have been anything without her. Peter Andre would have been no one without her. They clung on to her coat-tails."
Successful Tour and Future Plans
Kerry recently completed a UK-wide tour with Katie Price called 'An Evening with Katie Price and Kerry Katona' at the beginning of November. Despite finding the travel draining, she described the experience as "bigger and better than I could have ever imagined."
The pair are already planning another tour for next year, with Kerry revealing they've been FaceTiming to prepare. Away from the spotlight, Kerry appreciates returning to her routine of school runs and watching her daughter DJ's cheerleading activities.
Kerry and Katie's friendship dates back to 2004 when they met in the I'm A Celebrity jungle, where Katie also first encountered Peter Andre. The couple married in 2005 and share two children: Junior, now 20, and Princess, now 18, before separating in 2009.
Beyond their recent tour success, the friends have collaborated on various projects, including starring as wicked step-sisters in pantomime last year. Despite their glamorous public personas, Kerry recently told the Daily Mail that their private meetings are surprisingly humble, involving sitting in pyjamas watching crime television.
