A former housekeeper who worked for Kelly Brook for nearly a decade has publicly defended the television personality after she was labelled a 'bully' by Kelly Osbourne following a clash on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!
The Campfire Clash That Sparked a Feud
The controversy began on the ITV show when Kelly Brook, 45, was preparing a meal of eel for the campmates. After seeing her visibly gagging and retching from the smell, fellow contestant Jack Osbourne offered to help. While Kelly accepted the assistance at the time, she later confided in the Bush Telegraph camera that she felt Jack had 'elbowed' his way into taking over the cooking duty, describing his reaction as being 'like Christmas'.
This incident prompted Jack's sister, Kelly Osbourne, to leap to his defence on her Instagram Stories. She wrote: 'Kelly Brook… I don't think I like you.' Osbourne accused Brook of being 'performative' with 'all the gagging and the over‑dramatics' and stated, 'You bring out my big‑sister vibes where I want to attack you because I feel like you're a bit of a bully.'
A Decade of Loyalty: The Housekeeper's Defence
In response to these allegations, Gemma Daniels, who worked as Kelly Brook's housekeeper for nine years at her former £1 million Kent farmhouse, has spoken out vehemently in support of her former employer. Taking to TikTok, Daniels described the portrayal of Brook on the reality show as misleading.
'In the nine years that I've known Kelly Brook, I've never felt the need to stick up for her more than I do now,' Daniels stated. She went on to describe Brook as 'a really lovely down-to-earth woman' who always treated her with respect and kindness.
Daniels, who described herself as 'just a girl from a council estate', shared heartfelt anecdotes about Brook's character. She revealed that Brook would throw an annual Christmas party for the cleaners and gardeners, a gesture Daniels noted was uncommon among other wealthy and famous clients she had worked for.
'She used to get us the most beautiful, thoughtful Christmas presents, all of us,' Daniels recalled. 'When she’d get stuff for free, she would ask if we wanted it. There aren't people who would do that.'
More Than an Employer: Acts of Kindness Revealed
The former housekeeper also highlighted Brook's understanding and generosity regarding her personal circumstances. 'She didn't need us there, but knew that we needed the money,' Daniels explained, adding that Brook even allowed her to bring her children to the property, an act she described as exceptionally rare.
Daniels became emotional as she recalled the end of their professional relationship when Brook sold the Kent farmhouse in 2023. She said Kelly gave her many gifts during this transition, further cementing her view of the model and actress's generous nature.
'I hate seeing her portrayed as a bully because she ain't, she was always really good to the gardeners,' Daniels affirmed, directly countering the narrative emerging from the jungle.
Public Reaction and Ongoing Tensions
In the comments section of Gemma Daniels' TikTok post, many users praised her for speaking out and echoed her support for Kelly Brook. One commenter wrote, 'I don't get what Kelly Brook is doing wrong,' while another simply stated, 'Kelly Brook is fabulous.'
A third observer offered a theory, suggesting, 'Kelly was an IT girl back in her prime days, although she's in her 40s now. I feel like some women still feel threatened by her and try to drag her down.' They added a crucial point about reality television, noting, 'People need to realise these shows are edited you never get the full story.'
This was not the first time Kelly Brook and Jack Osbourne had clashed in the camp. Earlier in the series, they had locked horns over potato-slicing techniques during another meal preparation. Brook had previously confessed to feeling 'displaced' by Jack, who had taken on the role of unofficial camp chef. She admitted, 'I just want to be so useful, I'm just still trying to find my place in the camp in terms of what to do.'
The defence from her long-time housekeeper adds a significant personal testimony to the public debate, challenging the 'bully' label and painting a picture of a thoughtful and grounded individual far removed from her on-screen portrayal.
