Jesse Wood, the former husband of broadcaster Fearne Cotton, has revealed he is living on barely £1,000 a month and struggling to find paid work following their high-profile split.
Court Appearance Reveals Financial Struggles
The 49-year-old musician, who is the son of Rolling Stones legend Ronnie Wood, made the disclosure during a recent court appearance for a speeding offence. Wood was caught driving at 27mph in a 20mph zone on the A4 Cromwell Road in West London on 7 April last year.
Facing a potential driving ban, Wood explained his circumstances to the court. He stated that since his separation from Fearne Cotton just over a year ago, in December 2024, securing employment has been difficult. "I was due to be employed in 2024 but it got delayed," he said. "At the moment I'm living off my savings and I am looking to get employment."
Driving Ban and Financial Penalty Imposed
The court heard this was Wood's fourth speeding offence, with nine penalty points already on his licence from previous incidents. Prosecuting, Geraldine Dickinson confirmed the details of the latest violation, which occurred at 12.45pm.
Magistrates handed Wood a six-month driving ban after adding three more points to his licence. He was also ordered to pay a total of £255 in fines and costs. Sentencing magistrate Richard Sanden reduced the fine from £134 to £89 due to Wood's guilty plea, with additional charges of £36 and £130 applied.
Wood apologised to the court, saying, "I would like to say I accept responsibility for what I have done."
Life After a Decade-Long Marriage
Jesse Wood and Fearne Cotton were married for 10 years before announcing their split in late 2024. They share two children, Rex and Honey. Wood also has two older children, Arthur and Lola, from a previous relationship.
Cotton announced the end of their marriage on her Instagram Stories, writing, "It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage. Our priority has been, and will always be, our children."
Both have since moved on with new partners. Wood is now dating former Made In Chelsea star Gemma Gregory, with their relationship becoming public in April 2025. Fearne Cotton is in a relationship with 53-year-old director Elliot Hegarty.
