A Dubai court is set to hear an extradition case this week involving a suspected member of the Kinahan organised crime group. The hearing, scheduled for Thursday, concerns the transfer of the individual to Spain to face charges related to drug trafficking and money laundering.
The suspect was arrested in Dubai earlier this year following a coordinated international operation. Spanish authorities have been seeking the extradition as part of a broader crackdown on the Kinahan network, which has been linked to violent turf wars in Scotland and mainland Europe.
The operation, codenamed Armorum, has led to multiple arrests across several countries, including the UK, Spain, Turkey, and the UAE. Assets worth millions of pounds have been seized, including cash, luxury watches, and cryptocurrency wallets.
The extradition hearing marks a significant step in the international effort to dismantle the Kinahan cartel, which is believed to be one of the most powerful criminal organisations in Europe.
