Georgia Love Reflects on 2025: 'Hardest Year' Post-Split from Lee Elliott
Georgia Love calls 2025 her 'hardest year' after marriage split

Former Bachelorette star Georgia Love has bid a frank farewell to 2025, describing it as the most challenging year of her life following the breakdown of her marriage to Lee Elliott.

A Year of Duality: Heartbreak and Highlights

In a candid Instagram post shared on Tuesday, the 36-year-old television presenter admitted she initially had no intention of looking back on the year. "I wasn’t going to post a 2025 recap because it was the hardest year of my life and I just wanted to move on to the new one," she wrote. However, after scrolling through photos, she recognised a year filled with contrasting experiences.

Alongside a carousel of images showcasing happier recent moments, Love reflected on her achievements, including three overseas trips, covering a major news story, launching a new podcast, and marrying one of her best friends. "Actually at the end of the day 2025 could go down as one of the very best. The duality of life, hey?!" she mused.

The End of a Reality TV Romance

The central difficulty of her year was the end of her marriage to Lee Elliott, 43. The couple, who first met on the 2016 season of The Bachelorette Australia, announced their separation in February with identical social media statements.

They wrote: "After nine wonderful years together, including four as husband and wife, [we] have made the incredibly difficult decision to lovingly part ways." The pair emphasised there was "no drama, no bad blood", attributing the split to growing in different directions while maintaining deep mutual respect. They asked for privacy as they navigated the next stage, confirming they remain friends.

Followers had suspected trouble for months, noting their absence together for over four months, spending Christmas apart, and both being spotted without their wedding rings.

Moving On: New Chapters for Both

Since the split, both have been the subject of public speculation regarding their personal lives. Last month, Lee Elliott fuelled rumours he might be "off the market" after posting an intriguing photo from Singapore. In the picture, he had his arm draped around a mystery woman named Patrisha while enjoying drinks with friends, including MasterChef Australia star Diana Chan.

This followed earlier romance rumours linking Elliott to media personality Carrie Bickmore, which were reportedly sparked by him spending time at her home and his social media activity liking her posts.

For Georgia Love, her reflective post signifies a step forward, acknowledging profound personal pain while consciously choosing to also celebrate the year's joys and professional successes as she moves into a new chapter.
