Fearne Cotton's Emotional Book Post Amid Ex Jesse Wood's Court Struggles
Fearne Cotton's Book Launch as Ex Jesse Wood Faces Court

Broadcaster and podcaster Fearne Cotton has shared a deeply personal social media post to promote her new book, offering a poignant glimpse into her journey of self-discovery. The 44-year-old's introspective message comes at a time when her ex-husband, musician Jesse Wood, is facing significant personal and legal challenges.

An Emotional Promotion for 'Likeable'

Taking to her official Instagram on Thursday, Fearne candidly discussed the themes of her upcoming book, 'Likeable', which is set to hit shelves in March. In her post, she revealed how writing the book had been a process of learning to apply the same respect to herself that she readily gives to others.

"In this book I look at the ways I have tried to remain likeable," Fearne wrote. "How I have shape-shifted, shrunk, diluted myself, remained silent, and bent over backwards for approval." She described the introspection as "fruitful," leading her to become more honest and to start saying no. "I've allowed myself the same amount of self respect and generosity I've given other people over the years," she added, noting it was an "essential learning curve" she is still navigating.

The post concluded with images highlighting key topics the book will explore, including behaviour, success, shame, age, and perfection.

Jesse Wood's Court Appearance and Financial Strains

Fearne's focus on her new release coincides with her ex-partner's difficult period. Jesse Wood, 49, the son of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, appeared at Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court on Thursday facing a potential driving ban.

The court heard that Jesse was caught driving at 27mph in a 20mph zone on the A4 Cromwell Road in Earls Court on April 7 last year. As this was his fourth speeding offence, he risked disqualification. Representing himself, Jesse offered the court a stark picture of his current circumstances.

He revealed that since his split from Fearne 13 months ago, he has struggled to find paid work and is now living off his savings. "I was due to be employed in 2024 but it got delayed," he told the magistrates. "At the moment I'm living off my savings and I am looking to get employment." He stated his income from last year's tax return was "very low at around £14,000."

Jesse, who shares two children with Fearne and has two from a previous relationship, apologised for the offence and accepted responsibility. He is currently dating former Made in Chelsea star Gemma Gregory.

Moving Forward Amicably

Despite the parallel challenges in their lives, Fearne has previously emphasised that her separation from Jesse has been handled with care. During an appearance on ITV's Lorraine last year, she described the situation as "all very amicable" and confirmed that their children are "doing great." She added that she herself was in a "very good place."

This contrast highlights the separate paths the former couple are now on: Fearne channeling her experiences into a book about self-acceptance, while Jesse contends with unemployment and legal proceedings.
