Dominic Purcell, the Australian actor famed for his role as Lincoln Burrows in the hit series Prison Break, has stunned fans with a dramatic and almost unrecognisable new appearance. The 55-year-old took to Instagram on Monday to debut a striking 'silver fox' look, marking a significant departure from his previously clean-cut, tough-guy image.
From Clean-Shaven to Silver Fox
In a bold new photograph shared on social media, Purcell sports a full, impressive grey beard and slicked-back silver hair. Gone is the signature shaved head and five o'clock shadow that defined his look during his Prison Break heyday. Instead, he presented a more relaxed, distinguished aesthetic.
The actor posed in a black bomber jacket and matching slacks, with a cigarette casually held in his mouth. His caption, directed at his wife, read: "@tishcyruspurcell she loves it when I’m pissed off," accompanied by a coffee and cigarette emoji.
Family Reactions and a Blended Hollywood Dynasty
The transformation has not gone unnoticed by his family. His wife, Tish Cyrus, 58, playfully responded to his new rugged look in a previous post's comments, joking: "I have no idea who this is?!? Bring my husband back."
The couple's relationship moved quickly. The English-born Purcell began dating Tish in July 2022, a mere three months after her divorce from country singer Billy Ray Cyrus was finalised. Their engagement was announced in April 2023, and they tied the knot in an intimate Malibu ceremony just four months later.
Through this marriage, Purcell became stepfather to Tish's children, most notably global pop icon Miley Cyrus, 33. Tish and Billy Ray, who married in 1993 and divorced in 2022, share five children.
Purcell's Own Family and Legacy
Dominic Purcell was previously married to Rebecca Williamson, with whom he shares four children. They amicably separated in 2008. His children include son Joe, 25, daughter Audrey, 24, and twins Lily-Rose and Augustus, both 22.
The acting talent appears to run in the family. His son Joe is forging his own path in the industry, having recently appeared in the short film Shellbound—which was written by his sister Audrey—and the 2025 mini-series His Nerd.
This major style reinvention for Purcell signifies a new chapter for the actor, embracing a more mature and relaxed persona far removed from the intense characters that first made him a household name.
