DJ Fat Tony's 60th Birthday: Boy George & Celebs Toast in London
DJ Fat Tony celebrates 60th with celebrity friends

A Star-Studded Celebration for a Milestone Birthday

Popular DJ Fat Tony, whose real name is Tony Marnach, was the guest of honour at an exclusive London venue on Tuesday evening, celebrating his milestone 60th birthday surrounded by his closest showbiz friends. For once, the renowned DJ found himself in front of the decks rather than behind them, raising a glass at the upmarket Soho Mews House in Lancashire Court.

An Intimate Gathering of Close Friends

The select guest list featured some of the most familiar faces in British entertainment. Culture Club singer Boy George, who had previously served as Tony's best man at his wedding, was in attendance. They were joined by TV presenter Davina McCall and Coronation Street actress Claire Sweeney, whom Tony considers one of his closest celebrity pals.

The party also included EastEnders star Jessie Wallace and celebrated drag queen Jodie Harsh. Tony's husband of five months, Stavros Agapiou, was by his side throughout the festivities, sharing a kiss after Tony was presented with a special 60th birthday cake complete with candles.

A Journey of Recovery and Gratitude

The celebration marked another high point in a life that has seen remarkable transformation. In a recent interview, Tony reflected on overcoming a crippling addiction to drugs and alcohol more than 16 years ago. He explained, 'Since I got sober that reconnection to music is the best gift anyone could ever give me. Some people listen to music but I feel music, it is the best drug there ever is.'

Tony had reached a critical point in his addiction, weighing just seven stone and having lost his teeth before experiencing an epiphany. He spent six months in rehab, stating 'the love from one person saved my life.' He now emphasises that 'alcohol and drugs aren't the problem, I'm the problem,' and maintains his sobriety by choice.

As the party drew to a close, the DJ was seen exiting Soho House carrying a large bouquet of flowers, making his way back to the north London home he shares with Stavros. The celebration not only marked six decades of life but stood as a testament to Tony's remarkable personal journey and the strong bonds he's formed within London's entertainment community.
