Former football star and broadcaster Alex Scott has cut short her time in Australia following her elimination from I'm a Celebrity 2025, returning immediately to the UK to be with her partner, singer Jess Glynne, during a serious family health crisis.
Family Emergency Behind Sudden Departure
The sports pundit, who was the first contestant voted off the ITV reality series on Sunday 30 November 2025, revealed she would not be staying for the traditional finale and wrap party with her fellow campmates. Instead, Scott is heading straight home to support Glynne, whose mother recently suffered a major stroke that required urgent brain surgery.
Scott told The Mirror that the medical emergency occurred shortly before she entered the jungle, making her participation in the show a difficult decision. "It's been a tough time for us and obviously her family, and it was a tough decision to come into the jungle, but then Jess never wanted me to step away from not doing it," Scott explained.
Emotional Reunion and Support
The former Lioness addressed Glynne's noticeable absence from the iconic bridge greeting after her elimination, stating she had anticipated this possibility given the gravity of the situation. "I knew there was always a possibility of her not being across the bridge, if her mum hadn't got better, or if things had been getting worse, which they have been," Scott shared.
She expressed that while she would have liked to reunite with her campmates at the wrap party, her priority lies elsewhere. "I need to get home straight away," she stated emphatically, adding the heartfelt declaration: "She is my Jessica – I am going to go home and be her rock."
Public Support and Future Hopes
Glynne, who has been in a relationship with Scott for three years, publicly celebrated her partner's jungle efforts on Instagram. She expressed being "unbelievably proud" of Scott, while also suggesting the broadcaster hadn't received sufficient airtime "to show how incredible she really is."
In her social media post, Glynne directly explained her own absence: "Over the last few weeks, my mum suffered a major stroke and needed urgent brain surgery. It's been a really life-altering time for my family, and I've had to stay close to home. Alex would always want me to be where I'm needed most. I can't wait to have her back by my side."
Following her elimination, Scott admitted feeling "free" after leaving the jungle and confessed to struggling with some of the camp's larger personalities. She revealed her preferred winner would be former EastEnders star Shona McGarty, with rapper Aitch and YouTuber Angryginge taking second and third place in her rankings.
