Woman Bombarded Ex-Partner with 750 Calls in Harassment Campaign
Woman Made 750 Calls to Ex-Partner in Harassment Campaign

A woman telephoned her former partner 750 times across a fortnight and submitted fabricated allegations against him to police during a sustained harassment campaign, a court was told.

Demi Davies had been in a relationship with her partner for ten years prior to their separation in July 2024, Mold Crown Court heard today (Thursday, June 11). The circumstances between the pair were “tense”, said prosecuting counsel Laura Knightly. He relocated to his parents’ home where his siblings also resided, while she remained in their shared property.

On July 8, 2024, he returned to the couple’s home to retrieve the dog they jointly owned, which resulted in a dispute. He placed the dog in his vehicle, but Davies ran ahead and struck his car with a toy tractor, leaving a dent. As he attempted to drive away, she hit the vehicle once more, reports North Wales Live.

Subsequently, in November 2024, she contacted the victim’s father enquiring when he intended to collect the children. When his response failed to satisfy her, she contacted police and submitted false allegations concerning blackmail or unfounded sexual claims, Ms Knightly told the court.

On a separate occasion, she accused him of being romantically involved with a woman. Ms Knightly stated the former partner continued to receive calls from an unidentified number, which he believed to be Davies, with approximately 750 calls made across a two-week period. On a single day alone, 154 calls were recorded. The ordeal left him feeling stressed and anxious, and he “wanted to be left alone”.

In January 2025, she issued threats to her former partner’s father concerning the victim, warning he would be hurt. The threats included “I’ll bomb your house down” and “watch your f*****g back” and a reference to petrol pouring, said Ms Knightly.

During February 2025, she also sent an email to her ex-partner stating he would never see the children again. She was subsequently arrested and released on bail, yet persisted in contacting the victim. In April, Davies rang him dozens of times over the course of several days. She was arrested once more and released on bail.

Davies, 33, of Victoria Crescent, Pontybodkin, admitted criminal damage, sending an indecent and inappropriate communication, sending a threatening communication and two charges of harassment without violence. The offences took place in Pontybodkin, Flintshire.

The court was told that Davies, represented by Patrick Gartland, had entered early guilty pleas and was in a distressed state at the time of committing the offences. She had no prior convictions.

The judge, Recorder Gregory Bull, described her conduct as “nothing short of disgraceful”. He stated: “You made a number of hurtful allegations against him, bombarded him with telephone calls and damaged his car.” He said she had “lost her temper and taken it out on him”. However, the pre-sentence report indicated there was a great deal that “could be said in her favour”.

Judge Bull handed down a total sentence of 12 months in prison, suspended for 18 months. She was additionally issued a rehabilitation activity requirement of up to 25 days and instructed to complete 120 hours of unpaid work. Davies is required to pay £1,026 in compensation for the damage caused, along with a surcharge.

Davies was further issued a restraining order prohibiting her from contacting or approaching the victim for 10 years, with the exception of communications through third parties regarding the children. “You are on a knife edge. Take this chance well,” said the judge.
