Two Charged After Second Night of Belfast Unrest

Two people have been charged following a second night of disorder in Northern Ireland after a knife attack in Belfast.

Police Injured and Arrests Made

Twelve police officers were injured and 16 arrests were made during the unrest on Wednesday evening. The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) reported that a 24-year-old woman has been charged with disorderly behaviour and possession of an article with intent to cause damage. Additionally, a 28-year-old man has been charged with failing to remove a disguise when requested, obstructing police, and resisting police.

Court Appearance

Both individuals are scheduled to appear at Lisburn Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

Violence Erupts in Co Antrim

Police deployed water cannons as officers were targeted with bricks and petrol bombs by rioters wearing balaclavas in County Antrim. PSNI Assistant Chief Constable Ryan Henderson stated that the justice system is prepared to impose lengthy sentences on those causing disorder on the streets.
