Recycling Centre Closed After Skip Theft

A recycling centre has been forced to close after a significant theft of skips and waste material. Powys County Council shut down the Lower Cwmtwrch Household Recycling Centre on Thursday following the incident.

Police Investigation Underway

Dyfed-Powys Police reported that skips and waste material were stolen from the centre between 6pm and 10pm on Monday, June 8, and 3pm to 9.30pm on Tuesday, June 9. Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about suspicious activity in the industrial estate area.

Council Apologises for Disruption

The council apologised for any inconvenience and said it would contact residents with bookings directly. A statement read: "Lower Cwmtwrch Household Recycling Centre will be closed on Thursday, June 11. This is due to a break-in which has resulted in significant theft and disruption on site. All residents with bookings will be contacted directly. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding."

Police Appeal for Information

A police spokeswoman added: "Investigating officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the industrial estate area prior to or during this time, or information which could help their investigation, to get in touch."
