Police have taken a schoolgirl into custody following a stabbing incident at a school in north Manchester that left three people injured. Officers were called to reports of an attack at Co-op Academy on Plant Hill Road, Blackley, on Tuesday morning, June 9.
Swift Response by Staff and Police
School staff acted quickly to detain a girl to prevent further harm to pupils and staff. Police arrived shortly after and arrested a 14-year-old girl on suspicion of section 18 assault. She remains in custody for questioning. Authorities have confirmed they are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.
Victims and Injuries
Three individuals were injured: a 14-year-old schoolgirl, a 14-year-old schoolboy, and a 27-year-old male member of staff. All were taken to hospital, but their injuries are not believed to be serious, and they are in stable condition.

Chief Inspector Jon Shilvock stated: “We understand that this incident will have caused concern to pupils, staff, and the wider school community. The incident was swiftly and quickly dealt with by staff before officers attending to arrest the girl. There is believed to be no wider threat at this time, and we thank everyone for their support as emergency services dealt with this. We are not looking for anyone further in connection with this incident. Officers will remain at the school and within the area to provide a visible presence and community reassurance.”
