A 25-year-old man tragically died in India after reportedly using high-strength adhesive as a contraceptive instead of a condom. Salman Mirza, a drug user, is said to have sealed his manhood with ultra-strong epoxy resin during intercourse with his partner, with a mysterious green liquid later found in his abdomen.
Incident Details
The couple were inhaling the glue 'for a kick' before opting to use it as a contraceptive during a meet-up at the Amber Hotel in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, in 2021. Within a day of checking into the hotel, Salman was discovered unconscious in the shrubs outside the hotel by an acquaintance. He was rushed to hospital but passed away shortly afterwards.
Police Investigation
The Times of India reported the pair decided to engage in sexual activity after consuming drugs. 'Since they did not have any protection, they decided to apply the adhesive on his private parts to ensure that she does not get pregnant,' the newspaper disclosed. According to a senior officer and friends, Salman had the glue with him as the couple frequently inhaled its fumes.
Following his death, Salman's family alleges that his former partner applied the adhesive to his genitals. They have lodged a complaint with the police accusing her of murder. Police have sent samples for forensic analysis and an autopsy is in progress. The official cause of death was declared as 'multiple organ failure'.
Background
Salman served as the sole provider for his household, including his aging parents and two sisters. The probe into his death, which occurred last June but has only recently come to light, continues. Police stated: 'We have availed the first forensic report of Salman Mirza who died on June 25 in mysterious circumstances. But we haven’t yet been able to ascertain the exact cause of his death.'
They added: 'The two had reportedly gone to the hotel with another woman in an autorickshaw on June 22. We checked CCTV footage and found Mirza and his girlfriend entering the hotel. He was found unconscious the next day.'
Health Advisory
Forbes reported that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) maintains a website listing different possible birth control methods, including intrauterine contraception, hormonal methods, barrier methods, emergency contraception, and permanent methods. The CDC noted: 'Note that “glue privates shut” is not one of the methods listed.'
