Man Critical After Gang Attack on London's South Bank

A man is fighting for his life in hospital after being viciously attacked by a gang of around four men on London's South Bank, police have confirmed.

Victim Knocked to Ground Near Southbank Centre

The assault occurred on Belvedere Road, close to the Southbank Centre, in the early hours of Sunday morning. The victim, believed to be in his 40s, was knocked to the ground and repeatedly assaulted by the group.

Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 00:15 BST. The man was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

No arrests have been made so far, and detectives are conducting urgent inquiries to trace the suspects.

Police Appeal for Information

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Around 00:15hrs on Sunday, June 14, officers attended Belvedere Road, South Bank, following reports of an assault. The victim, aged in his 40s, was assaulted by a group of around four men, who knocked him to the ground and assaulted him. He was taken to hospital, where he remains in critical condition. No arrests have been made at this stage, and officers are making urgent inquiries.”
