Protesters have set fire to a bus in east Belfast as disorder erupted at an anti-immigration demonstration organized in response to a recent stabbing attack. The incident occurred on the Newtownards Road, where a Glider bus was torched despite widespread calls for calm.

Charges Filed in Knife Attack

A 30-year-old Sudanese man arrested on suspicion of the Belfast knife attack has been charged with attempted murder. He also faces charges of possession of a bladed article in a public place and making threats to kill. The accused is scheduled to appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday. In line with Northern Ireland's legal protocols, authorities have not released the suspect's name before his court appearance.

Victim's Condition

The victim, a man in his 40s, remains in a serious condition in hospital, receiving treatment for severe wounds to his eyes, face, and back. The attack Monday night has drawn widespread condemnation from community leaders and politicians.
