Hotel Responds to Unverified Claims
In a social media post, the hotel stated that there is no truth to claims that immigrants are being housed there or that individuals are being transported to and from border locations. The management emphasised that such misinformation is causing unnecessary worry among staff, guests, and the local community.
'We want to be absolutely clear: there is no truth whatsoever to these claims,' the post read. 'The spread of this misinformation is causing unnecessary concern for our staff, guests and the wider community.'
Safety and Wellbeing Prioritised
The hotel stressed that the safety and wellbeing of guests and employees remain their highest priority. They are taking the matter seriously and are working to determine the origin of the rumours. The relevant local authorities have also been contacted, as the false allegations have significantly impacted the business, employees, and guests.
The hotel urged individuals sharing or commenting on the claims to consider the consequences of spreading unverified information. They encouraged anyone with information about the source of the rumours to contact them directly.
'Thank you to everyone who has supported us and taken the time to seek the facts before sharing information,' the statement concluded.
