GB News Interrupted as Sirens Sound Over Tel Aviv

GB News was halted on Monday morning as presenter Mark White interrupted the programme to report on air raid sirens sounding over Tel Aviv, as Iran launched a third wave of ballistic missiles.

Live Coverage Interrupted

Home and Security Editor Mark White was compelled to disrupt GB News on Monday, in light of reports of air raid sirens sounding in Tel Aviv. Interrupting the programme, the journalist announced: 'Ok, just before we cross to newspapers, we want to bring you an update again on the situation in Israel.'

'Hopefully we've got images of Tel Aviv live this morning, where the sirens have just sounded.' As GB News broadcasted a haunting clip of the city, White went on: 'If you just have a listen to this, this is the sirens sounding just a minute ago.'

'So the air raid sirens are sounding there over Tel Aviv, central Israel and also northern Israel [because of] incoming ballistic missiles from Iran as yet another wave has come in.'

Escalating Conflict

'There have been two waves already this morning of ballistic missile attacks. This is the third. We had about two or three waves last night so it is absolutely continuing into this morning, which is understandably a worrying indication of where we might be headed in terms of retaliatory strikes.'

In a shocking turn of events, Israel and Iran exchanged fire overnight, bringing an end to the ceasefire agreed upon in April, with Iran launching a barrage of missiles at Israel on Sunday evening, which were intercepted. In retaliation, Tel Aviv has since targeted numerous locations, including a petrochemical complex in the southwest of Iran.

Official Statements

The Israeli military stated: 'A short while ago, the IDF identified missiles launched from Iran toward the territory of the State of Israel. Defensive systems are operating to intercept the threat.'

'In the past few minutes, the Home Front Command has sent a precautionary directive directly to mobile phones in the relevant areas.'

'The public is asked to act responsibly and follow the instructions—they save lives. Upon receiving an alert, the public is instructed to enter a protected space and remain there until further notice.'

Cabinet Meeting Called

As tensions escalate, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to convene a cabinet meeting today at 11am local time. Reports from Israeli media suggest that Netanyahu, along with a select group of senior ministers and security officials, will discuss military, security and diplomatic responses to the situation.
