Armed Men Target Nissan Micra in Glasgow Car Chase

Armed men targeted a Nissan Micra in Glasgow, causing multiple deliberate collisions in a car chase through the city's streets. The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, June 13.

Details of the Incident

Police believe it was a targeted attack in Polmadie. Two vehicles—a dark blue Renault Clio and a silver Nissan Micra—were involved in a deliberate collision on the off-slip of the M74 at Junction 1A Polmadie around 12:10 AM. Three men carrying weapons then got out of the Clio, approached the Micra, and caused damage to it.

The Micra fled, pursued by the Clio down Polmadie Road and Aikenhead Road, where further deliberate crashes occurred. No injuries have been reported.

Police Appeal

Police are appealing for information to trace the Clio and its occupants. Detective Inspector Stephen Greenshields said: “We believe this was a targeted attack on the Micra driver and I’m appealing to the public for help to trace those responsible. I’m particularly keen to speak to drivers who were in the area around the time and may have seen what happened. I’d also ask those with dash-cam, private CCTV or doorbell footage around Polmadie Road and Aikenhead Road, to review this for anything which may assist our enquiries.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson added: “We are appealing for witnesses following a collision and report of men with weapons in Glasgow. Around 12:10 AM on Saturday, June 13, we received a report of a vehicle being deliberately struck by another vehicle while on the off-slip from the eastbound M74 at the junction with Polmadie Road. Three men with weapons, who were travelling in a dark blue Renault Clio, were reported to have approached the silver Nissan Micra and caused damage to the vehicle before it made off. The Clio then followed the Micra where further deliberate collisions happened on Polmadie Road and Aikenhead Road. Police were made aware and there were no reports of injuries.
