Severe Delays Hit Multiple London Tube Lines During Rush Hour
Severe Delays on Circle, District, Piccadilly Lines in London

London Underground is heading into a messy rush hour after a medley of issues on the Circle, District and Piccadilly lines. Commuters hoping for a smooth and carefree journey home are likely to face anything but after a spate of disruption across the Tube and Overground lines.

The District and Circle lines are experiencing severe delays, and so is the Piccadilly Tube and the Suffragette Overground routes. Here is a line-by-line roundup of what to expect during the rush hour.

London Tube Status at Rush Hour

The Circle line is having severe delays on the entire route because of an earlier fire alert at Bayswater Tube station. Journeys on the District line are also hampered because of it, causing severe delays between Edgware Road and High Street Kensington.

Meanwhile, the Piccadilly line status shows severe delays between Acton Town and Uxbridge, Acton Town and Heathrow Terminal T5, and Heathrow Terminal T4 and Acton Town. This is because of a trespasser on the track at South Ealing, TfL said.

The Central line has minor delays between Hainault and Woodford after a signal failure, the latest TfL status shows. And the Victoria line is also seeing some minor delays on the entire route due to a track fault.

Overground Disruption

On the Overground Suffragette line, passengers should brace for severe delays between South Tottenham and Gospel Oak in both directions, while the stretch between Barking Riverside and South Tottenham is suspended. The culprit is a broken-down freight train at Wansted Park, which is blocking all the lines. National Rail had a bit more information about the problem, and it said the disruption means trains between Gospel Oak and Barking Riverside are cancelled. The issue is expected to last at least until 6pm, although this could change as time goes.
