Costco has responded to customer feedback by introducing a new bagel pack size, addressing long-standing complaints about the previous two-pack requirement. For years, the wholesale retailer sold its Kirkland Signature bagels exclusively in packs of two six-bagel bundles for $5.99, forcing members to buy 12 bagels at a time. Many shoppers reported that the excess bagels often went to waste.
Now, some Costco locations offer a single bag of eight bagels for $4.99. The change was highlighted by the Instagram account Costco Buys, which shared a video of the new pack last month. The caption noted that the bagels are “water boiled for that perfect chewy texture” and that customers “no longer have to buy two packs just to get them.”
Reaction among members has been mixed. Many expressed delight, with one commenting, “Wow, yessss now I can buy some bagels. I always want to buy a double pack of one kind, but it’s just too much.” Another wrote, “Yes!! Finally!” However, some shoppers pointed out that the new deal is less cost-effective, as it offers eight bagels for $4.99 compared to the previous 12 for $5.99. “They raised prices without raising prices,” one critic noted.
It remains unclear whether all U.S. Costco stores will adopt the eight-pack option. The Independent has contacted Costco for comment.
