A man was taken to hospital after a car was flipped onto its roof in a dramatic crash on the M60 on Sunday, June 14. Police, paramedics, and fire crews were called to the incident on the anti-clockwise carriageway between junctions 12 and 13 near Worsley following reports of a collision at around 5pm.
Emergency Response and Lane Closures
All lanes were temporarily shut as emergency crews responded at the scene. There were significant delays before the vehicle was moved onto the hard shoulder. A man was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure by paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service. Traffic later resumed as normal.
Fire Service Statement
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Just after 5pm on Sunday 14 June, fire crews were called to reports of a road traffic collision on the M60 anti-clockwise between junctions 12 and 13 near Worsley.
“Two fire engines from Broughton and Farnworth stations were quickly mobilised to the incident, which involved a car which had overturned onto its roof. Working with National Highways, firefighters helped right the vehicle and move it to the hard shoulder and make the area safe.
“One man was taken to hospital as a precaution by North West Ambulance Service. Fire crews were in attendance for about 45 minutes.”
