Celebrating Women Winemakers for International Women's Day
Women Winemakers Spotlight for International Women's Day

In anticipation of International Women's Day this coming Sunday, we are highlighting four remarkable wines produced by talented female winemakers from across the globe. This year's theme, Give To Gain, resonates deeply within the wine industry, where mentorship, collaborative tastings, and the generous sharing of time have profoundly influenced many careers, including my own. Consider this your perfect reason to gather friends, uncork a bottle, and celebrate both fine wine and cherished friendships.

Dancing Duchess Rosé 2022 (12.5%)

This characterful English sparkling wine is crafted by doctors-turned-wine enthusiasts Archie Patel and Allie Cope. Made exclusively from 100% Pinot Meunier, a Champagne grape currently enjoying a surge in popularity, it offers a vibrant and effervescent experience that showcases the innovation in English winemaking.

Paul Jaboulet Aîné Viognier 2023 (13%)

Produced by esteemed viticulturist Caroline Frey, this polished Viognier presents gentle floral notes with a subtle hint of spice. Frey is renowned for her work in prestigious wine regions across France, including the Rhone, Bordeaux, and Burgundy, bringing expertise and elegance to every bottle.

M&S Collection Malbec Mendoza 2024 (14%)

From Malbec expert Susana Balbo, this wine is velvety and rich with berry flavors, yet lifted by a refreshing acidity. Sourced from high-altitude fruit in Mendoza's Uco Valley, it exemplifies the balance and depth achievable through skilled winemaking and optimal growing conditions.

Aslina Chardonnay Western Cape 2024 (13.5%)

This warm, ripe Chardonnay by leading South African winemaker Ntsiki Biyela features layers of tropical fruit and a gentle creaminess, all balanced by a crisp, clean finish. It highlights the diversity and quality emerging from the Western Cape's vineyards.

These selections not only celebrate the achievements of women in winemaking but also encourage the spirit of sharing and mentorship central to International Women's Day. Enjoy these wines as a toast to progress and community in the world of viticulture.
