Early May Bank Holiday Monday is here, meaning many people will enjoy an extra day off work and school. However, that also means a number of supermarkets across the UK will operate with different opening hours today.
Supermarkets have revealed their holiday opening times for the 2026 May bank holiday. The Standard has compiled a list of confirmed opening times for all major UK supermarkets, from Aldi to Waitrose.
Some branches may have different opening hours, so you might want to check your local store’s specific timings before making your journey.
Asda Express locations generally remain open 24 hours or until their usual late-night closing. M&S stores in travel hubs like stations, airports and garages usually maintain normal hours. Morrisons Daily stores typically stay open until 10pm or 11pm. Most Sainsbury’s Local stores will stay open from 7am to 11pm.
