McDonald's in China Offers 'Best Views in the World'

A holidaymaker has shared an incredible view from a McDonald's in China, with some calling it the 'best views in the world' while others criticize the fast-food chain for spoiling the natural beauty.

The McDonald's with a Breathtaking View

Everyone has their favourite McDonald's order, but not many have a favourite branch. For one woman, a McDonald's in Zhangjiajie National Park, China, wins for its remarkable views. In an Instagram video, Janet, known as @janetnewenham online, shared the view from the Golden Arches store, which overlooks the park's dramatic sandstone pillars and wilderness scenery often associated with the film Avatar.

Janet's clip pans across a mystical landscape with tall rock faces, greenery, and a misty sky, making it look magical. Many viewers expressed a desire to enjoy nuggets at this spectacular natural wonder, with some having visited themselves.

Mixed Reactions from Viewers

One commenter said, 'I've been there 2015 and it's absolutely amazing, I swear McDonald's always get the best spots.' Another wrote, 'They love McDonald's. I couldn't believe how many there were in China, but I was happy with my fries.'

However, others were critical. One user said, 'So they basically ruined the views.' Another added, 'Amazing place – was there in 2018, they also have a KFC if I remember correctly, bit ridiculous.' A third wrote, 'Can they not for once,' and another said, 'This is actually sad.'

Zhangjiajie National Park: A UNESCO World Heritage Site

Zhangjiajie National Park, located in the Wulingyuan Scenic Area in central-eastern China, covers 18.59 square miles (48.15 sq km). According to National Parks, 'The collective Wulingyuan area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is probably the most coveted part of the area.'

The park comprises dense forests, deep ravines, canyons, unusual peaks, caves, and pillar-like rock formations made of quartz-sandstone, formed by physical erosion from abundant rains. These landscapes inspire many types of Chinese artwork.

Notable features include the Bailong Elevator and the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge, both record-holding attractions that help visitors experience the park's splendor.
