A 21-year-old man from Ilkeston has been charged with multiple offences following a car crash that injured three pedestrians and damaged a bowling alley.
The incident occurred on Derby Road, Ilkeston, at the junction of Oakwell Drive, just before 5pm on Friday, June 12. A car ploughed through the side of MFA Bowl after colliding with another vehicle.
Three pedestrians sustained injuries, but none were serious, according to police. Derbyshire police charged Callum Thompson with criminal damage, recklessly endangering life, failing to provide a specimen for analysis, assault, and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Thompson has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Derby Magistrates' Court on Monday, June 15.
Dramatic footage from the scene showed the extent of the damage to the venue. Management at MFA Bowl announced the site will remain closed until further notice, citing circumstances beyond their control.
In a social media statement, they said: "Due to circumstances beyond our control, we will be closed until further notice. Please know we will be back open once we're allowed!"
They added: "A huge thank you to all the emergency services involved yesterday! We are extremely grateful those injured only suffered minor injuries. Thank you all for the supportive comments and love it means the world to the team!"
