Blackpool Tower was evacuated on Friday evening after reports of smoke, according to Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS). Six fire engines were dispatched to the scene, and crews conducted a thorough search of the building to locate the source of the smoke.
No injuries were reported, and the fire service confirmed that the smoke was caused by an electrical issue in the basement of a neighbouring property. The tower was temporarily closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.
The promenade is currently hosting the Blackpool Illuminations, which run until January. The evacuation did not affect the illuminations event, and the tower has since reopened to the public.
