Stokke YoYo3 Review: Best Newborn Travel Pram with One-Button Fold
Stokke YoYo3 Review: Best Newborn Travel Pram with One-Button Fold

Hate reading lengthy manuals and grappling with heavy frames? The Stokke YOYO3 pram could be for you. As a mum-to-be, I discovered just how overwhelming pram shopping can be. Despite warnings from friends with little ones, I was unprepared for the array of travel systems, carrycots, parent-facing and world-facing options, and wheels for every terrain. It is no wonder people now test drive prams like cars.

Expecting my first baby, I knew I wanted something neither bulky nor complicated. I needed a pram I could fold without watching a 10-minute YouTube tutorial. I also suffer from an inability to read instruction manuals—my brain simply shuts off. I sought something simple, well-made, and manoeuvrable.

After asking friends and hearing the same name repeatedly, I settled on Stokke's YOYO3 Stroller, priced from £449 with the newborn pack. Its main selling point is the one-button fold, but it also looks sleek. As a fashion editor, I must admit I considered matching baby accessories to my outfits. There are 12 shade options, including two new Riviera stripe colourways, Capri and Monaco.

The first thing I noticed about the YOYO3 is its compactness. Initially, I worried it was too small and low to the ground, but after testing, I changed my mind. It folds down to fit in overhead cabin storage on planes and easily slots into small car boots. It is lightweight, around 6.2kg, and can be carried over the shoulder if needed.

The pram is designed to grow with your baby. With the newborn pack or bassinet, it can be used from birth, then transitioned to a seat for up to four years. In today's economy, this longevity is a real selling point.

Key Features

  • One-button fold: Collapses quickly into a compact, cabin-friendly size.
  • Lightweight design: Approximately 6.2kg, easy to carry or lift.
  • Newborn to toddler use: Compatible with bassinet or newborn pack, then transitions to seat.
  • Travel-friendly: Fits in overhead storage and small car boots.
  • Smooth ride: Individual wheel suspension helps handle different surfaces.
  • Compact storage: Ideal for smaller homes or limited hallway space.

What I appreciate most, even from initial setup (my partner managed it in 15 minutes), is how uncomplicated the pram is. The folding mechanism is intuitive and does not require two people to operate.

However, this is very much a city or travel pram. It is not designed for rough terrain or long countryside walks. You must also factor in the extra cost of newborn attachments. The storage shelf beneath the pram is small, holding only a handbag or a small changing bag.

If your priority is a light, portable, and easy-to-use pram, the YOYO3 ticks those boxes. As a Londoner, it is exactly what I needed for daily use. For those shopping around, the Mamas & Papas Flip XT3 Pushchair, from £299, also came highly recommended from my new-mum WhatsApp group.
