Jeremy Clarkson Reveals Pub Losing Money Despite Being Fully Booked
Clarkson: Pub Losing Money Despite Full Bookings

Jeremy Clarkson has confessed that his pub is losing money every day, even though it is constantly full of customers. The former Top Gear presenter shared the financial struggles in his Amazon Prime series Clarkson's Farm.

Profit Figures Disappoint

In episode four, Clarkson meets with consultant Charlie Ireland to review the first four months of trading. He bluntly states, "Profit before taxation... minus £8,486. That's the headline figure, we're losing money." Despite being fully booked daily, the pub cannot turn a profit.

Success Drives Costs

Charlie Ireland explains that the pub's popularity is paradoxically increasing costs. "It's partly the success that's causing the additional cost, as the infrastructure of the pub can't cope," he says.

Strange Thefts

Clarkson also highlights unexpected expenses, including theft. He reveals that someone stole £200 worth of cooking oil the previous night. Additionally, lightbulbs and urinal traps are stolen daily. "Who steals urinal traps?" he asks incredulously.

He then holds up a Hawkstone brewery pint glass and asks viewers to guess how many are stolen weekly. The answer: 400 glasses per week.

Clarkson's Farm series five is now streaming on Prime Video.
