JoJo Siwa made a stunning appearance at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles, wearing heels for the first time in her life as part of a dramatic style transformation. The 18-year-old dancer, known for her signature rainbow-coloured outfits, opted for a classic black gown with a Bardot neckline and feathered tulle skirt, paired with pointed heels.
Speaking to People magazine, Siwa said: 'I am in a dress and heels the first time in my life. When I knew I was coming to the AMAs, I was like, “Oh, what am I gonna wear,” because I have had this transition while being on Dancing with the Stars where I’ve gone from dressing like I normally dress to looking more adult.' She added that she wanted to branch out of her comfort zone.
Siwa presented the award for Favourite Pop Duo or Group and received praise from host Cardi B, who jokingly asked her to visit her three-year-old daughter Kulture as a Christmas gift. Siwa responded: 'Cardi, I'm going to try to make Christmas happen. I promise. I cannot wait to meet Kulture. She's being raised by a superstar. A legend, Cardi B.'
The star recently split from girlfriend Kylie Prew but has said they remain best friends. Speaking on Paris Hilton's podcast, Siwa said: 'She is literally still my best friend. I talked to her yesterday, she just got a new puppy. She’s awesome. She’s having the time of her life, I’m having the time of my life.'
