Aldi Recalls Japanese Gyoza Over Glass Fears

An urgent recall has been issued for 64 products over concerns that powdered milk in the items may have been contaminated with salmonella. Five of the items recalled are from supermarket Aldi, with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) first issuing the notice on April 20.

The Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) then released its own public health alert for the powdered milk on April 30. The products are being sold across the US, having been made and distributed by California Dairies, Inc.

The initial recall included frozen pizzas sold at Aldi across the US, but has now been expanded to include other items from retailers including Walmart, Target, QVC and Williams Sonoma. It has been noted that more items may be added as the recall continues.
