UK Braces for Week of Rain Before 32C June Heatwave Returns
UK: Week of Rain Then 32C June Heatwave

The beginning of June will see Britain battered by rain every single day for a week as temperatures plummet by half, before a continental scorcher brings back 32C (90F) heat from later next week.

Rainy Start to June

Following the record-breaking 35C late-May heatwave, forecasters are predicting daily rainfall for a week across the South and North. Highs will drop 17C to just 18C in the South and 16C across parts of the North on most days this week.

The Weather Outlook forecaster Brian Gaze said: "A big change is on the way." And a Met Office forecaster added: "After the record heatwave, low pressure arrives to start summer. The next week will see rain, brisk winds and lower temperatures."

Heatwave Return Expected

However, a 1,000 mile wide continental scorcher is expected from June 10 onwards, with temperatures reaching up to 32C as the heat intensifies, reports the Daily Star. BBC Weather said: "Mid-June has the potential for hot temperatures." A Met Office forecaster noted: "Very warm spells are possible as we head further into June."

The Met Office indicates that a significantly hotter than normal period through to early August is eight times more probable than much cooler than average conditions. The Met Office outlook through to early August said: "There is an increased chance of warm conditions and heatwaves."
