Emmerdale viewers are convinced that Jamie Tate could be returning after Serena Sugden's covert activities at Home Farm. Serena, played by Casey Al-Shaqsy, arrived in the village last month and immediately raised suspicion by asking probing questions about her murderous relative John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth).
Serena's Suspicious Actions at Home Farm
On Monday (July 20), Kim Tate (Claire King) discovered an intruder at Home Farm and reached for her shotgun. The culprit had already slipped out through the back door. Kim instructed her head of security, Ross Barton (Mike Parr), to track down the perpetrator, handing him a list of potential suspects.
Meanwhile, Serena shed light on her connection to John, explaining to Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) that her family thought nothing of it when John turned up last December, until her mother spotted him on the news. Like most villagers, she had been taken in by the killer's charm.
Kim also discovered a USB stick missing, and Serena was later spotted browsing files on a laptop.
Serena's Deliberate Sabotage
On Tuesday (July 21), Serena deliberately sabotaged a fence at Butlers Farm to manufacture an excuse to visit Ross at Home Farm. Once inside, she picked up a photograph and was convinced it depicted a young Joe Tate (Ned Porteous). Ross clarified it was Kim's son Jamie Tate (Alexander Lincoln), and Serena appeared fascinated by him.
Ross divulged details about Jamie's sinister deeds, including that he almost killed his mother-in-law and took off a few years ago. Serena demanded: "I love a scandal, tell me everything." She was later overheard on the phone confirming she had successfully infiltrated Home Farm.
Fan Theories About Jamie Tate's Return
Jamie had attempted to poison Kim by tampering with her brandy decanter, resulting in his banishment and loss of his fortune. He fled the village and faked his death by driving his car off a cliff into a lake. No body was ever found, and everyone except Kim presumed him dead. He has not returned despite being the father of Thomas, whom he shares with Gabby (Rosie Bentham).
Taking to X, one fan questioned: "Serena, is she working for Jamie, being as though she wants in Home Farm so much? #Emmerdale." Another speculated: "Sooo is Serena working for A. Sadie...
