Emails Suggest Andrew Facilitated Epstein-Gaddafi Meeting
Newly released emails from the US Department of Justice's Epstein files appear to show that Prince Andrew, also known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, helped arrange a meeting between the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein and the late Libyan dictator Colonel Muammar Gaddafi. The messages, dating from autumn 2010, reveal Epstein's efforts to connect with Gaddafi through royal aide David Stern, with Andrew allegedly playing a key intermediary role.
Email Correspondence Details Alleged Arrangement
In one email from October 2010, Epstein contacted David Stern, writing, "i want to go to tripoli lets organize with pa." The term "pa" is believed to refer to Prince Andrew, as indicated in multiple emails between Stern and Epstein. Epstein followed up, stating, "people that have seen the father, have asked me if i want to meet him as he does not know where to put his money... I wondered if Pa should make the intro instead." Channel 4 News reported that "the father" refers to Gaddafi, distinguishing him from his son Saif.
Stern then consulted Andrew, replying the next day, October 8, 2010, "He is thinking about the best approach and will discuss with me when I see him next on 17th Oct in Hong Kong (he is leaving today for Asia)." Andrew was the UK's trade envoy at the time and made an official visit to China in October 2010.
Andrew's Direct Involvement in Libya Plans
Later emails from "The Duke," signed "A," to Epstein's address show Andrew's direct involvement. On November 4, 2010, he wrote, "I will call you later this evening after I have had my chat with my Libyan contact to see what we can arrange for you in Tripoli." The same day, he followed up with, "Libya fixed. Call me whenever." However, Channel 4 News reported that the planned meeting did not proceed, as Epstein never flew to Tripoli.
Police Consult Prosecutors Over Separate Allegations
These revelations come as Thames Valley Police confirmed on Wednesday that they held discussions with specialists from the Crown Prosecution Service regarding allegations that Andrew shared confidential reports from his role as the UK's trade envoy with Epstein. This separate investigation adds to the scrutiny surrounding Andrew's connections with the convicted paedophile.
Additional Emails Discuss Libyan Financial Matters
In other emails from June and July 2010, "A" discussed a loan from Libya to Dubai with investment banker Terence Allen. Allen wrote, "In light of our conversation last week in relation to Dubai, is there anything I can do there for you??" Andrew replied, "Good question! I know that the only person who can make this decision is the Colonel himself. I will just ask our Libyan friend Tareq to see where he is on the subject, as he has the ear of the private office of Brother Leader." This further highlights Andrew's engagement with Libyan contacts during his tenure as trade envoy.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been contacted for comment on these allegations. The emails, first unearthed by Channel 4 News, provide new insights into the extent of Andrew's involvement with Epstein and his attempts to broker high-level international connections.
