The positive reaction comes months after Schumer announced her separation from husband Chris Fischer, with whom she shares a son.
In a social media statement, Schumer wrote: 'Blah blah blah Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years. We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son.' She added that the split was amicable and that they remain 'family forever.'
Schumer has been open about her health journey, which led to a diagnosis of Cushing syndrome after online comments about her appearance. The condition, caused by excess cortisol, prompted her to seek medical help. She has since lost over 50 pounds, partly with the help of GLP-1 medications.
She tried Wegovy and Ozempic but experienced severe side effects, including vomiting and extreme fatigue. She eventually settled on Mounjaro and hormone replacement therapy for perimenopause, reporting fuller hair, better skin, and more energy. Schumer noted that Mounjaro is not typically covered by insurance unless for diabetes or severe obesity, but she has had a positive experience with it.
