Anthony Joshua's heavyweight bout against Kristian Prenga has been relocated from Riyadh to the Jeddah Superdome, organisers announced on Monday. The fight remains scheduled for 25 July in Saudi Arabia, approximately 950km from the originally planned venue.
No reason was given for the change, though the fight was loosely tied to the ESports World Cup, which was recently moved from Riyadh to Paris due to the Middle East conflict. Joshua, 36, is using the contest as a warm-up for a potential showdown with Tyson Fury later this year.
Joshua has fought in both Jeddah and Riyadh previously. He lost his rematch to Oleksandr Usyk in Jeddah in 2022, while victories over Otto Wallin and Francis Ngannou took place in Riyadh in 2023 and 2024 respectively. He also defeated Andy Ruiz Jr in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, in 2019.
Joshua enters the fight with a 29-4 record (26 KOs), while Prenga, 35, holds a 20-1 record (20 KOs). Joshua last fought in December, stopping Jake Paul in six rounds. Ten days later, he survived a car crash in Nigeria that killed his teammates Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele.
