Former Dallas Cowboys Defensive Tackle Trysten Hill Arrested on Serious Charges
Former Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Trysten Hill displayed a sickening grin in his mugshot following his arrest for allegedly assaulting a pregnant woman. According to arrest records obtained by the Daily Mail, Hill was taken into custody on March 26 and faces charges of third-degree felony assault of a pregnant person and misdemeanor interfering with an emergency request for assistance.
Details of the Arrest and Charges
The Ellis County sheriff's office confirmed that Hill's arrest was linked to a pair of bond forfeiture warrants stemming from a 2025 criminal investigation, as reported by the Dallas Morning News. The identity of the pregnant woman and her relationship to Hill remain unclear at this time. Hill was booked into the Wayne McCollum Detention Center in Waxahachie, Texas, at 2:30 pm, with his bond set at $3,500.
Hill's NFL Career and Struggles
After playing three seasons of college football at the University of Central Florida, Hill was selected 58th overall in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys. Despite his high draft position, Hill never lived up to expectations as a second-round pick. The Florida native appeared in only 25 games over four seasons with the Cowboys, recording 39 combined tackles and half a sack before being cut in mid-2022.
Following his release from Dallas, Hill bounced around the league, playing six games with the Arizona Cardinals for the remainder of 2022. He then had a brief stint on the Cleveland Browns practice squad before signing with the New England Patriots, where he logged just three games over two seasons. After New England released him in 2024, the Indianapolis Colts signed him to their practice squad but later cut him as well. Hill has not signed with any team since.
Across his entire NFL career, spanning 34 total games, Hill managed only five tackles and one-and-a-half sacks, highlighting his struggles to make an impact in the professional league.
